I'm off to see the parentals for Christmas, and don't know how much I'm going to be around over the next day or two, so I LOVE YOU ALL, HAPPY HOLIDAYS, DON'T DO ANYTHING NAUGHTY WHILE I'M GONE. If you're my Yuletide author, I will get to reading it as soon as humanly possible, and THANK YOU ♥ ♥ ♥ To everyone else, I have written several things for Yuletide, and as I find it impossible to shed my narrative voice you will probably be able to guess what I've written! Merry Christmas early to those who are already celebrating! I have a few hours to myself before I have to go to Christmas Eve dinner at my uncle's house, so a quick post and then I'm gonna actually get writing stuff done.

So. Third day in a row with no sleep. I've already abused melatonin and benedryl and xanax, which -- had I been a small yippy dog, or possibly a koala -- would have been a near-suicidal combination with the dosages I took last night out of desperation, but nada... except for the awesome upset stomach I am currently facing (already asked a doctor, I'm fine, just an idiot). ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS A TWELVE HOUR NAP, and the ability to call in sick to work without forcing someone else to work Christmas Eve.
Yesterday was an adventure in lol retail. A constant stream made its way into our store and oh, oh the fights in line position at the register. Ladies, ladies. It is not my responsibility to police customers into forming a neat and orderly line, as I would like to assume you have already been coached in the proper procedure since the first grade, nor is it even close to any of my sales associate prerogatives to send forty-year old women into time-outs for cutting ahead.

Only 2,5 hours left until I can go home and have my Christmas meal. I agreed to do a 3,5h extra shift today, but it's just as dead here as I thought it would be. Lots of money for surfing the internet...

Can't believe I haven't updated this since July. Oh dear.
Anyway. I'm taking an extended break from the internet so I won't, for the future, be commenting or using this journal. I'll hopefully be back at some point with a fresh mind and fresh perspective.

Lots of people seem to have problems with trains today, so I am glad I went yesterday already. We were a bit late arriving in Hannover to I had to run to my next train , but it was okay.
There is still a bit snow here, but it really would have been nicer if all the snow from last weekend had stayed.

Merry Christmas Eve, flist!
Finally, a Jane Austen inspired book that I want to read: Jane Bites Back by Michael thomas Ford.
I'm watching Four Christmases with Super Spouse. This is the longest Christmas day ever. This is one of those movies that could have been really good but something is missing. I hope that Reese Witherspoon's dad is normal. There needs to be at least one normal branch of the family.
One thing this movie confirms in my mind is that Reese Witherspoon would be perfect as Scarlett O'Hara. Kristen Chennowith can be a little annoying, but I like her. And, casting her as RW's sister is pretty much perfect.
Watching this movie, I think I might have solved the problem of how to walk in heels by watching RW. You can't step heel to toe in four inch heels. She was basically walking flat footed, if that makes any sense.
I need to make cinnamon rolls for tomorrow morning.
It's funny - no matter how far we move away from the formulas of Old Hollywood and the production code, we still have movies that end with the "OMG, I really do want family and kids!"
Okay, I guess I should be productive.

(It might not have seemed that way, with my Prolonged Absence From LJ, though. Ahem.)
Anyway - I'm about to head to the parental unit, 'cause I'm going to mass with the mom at six. Depending on the weather (as in, will the snow have frozen into HOMGSLIPPERYSTUFF or not), I'll be spending the night on a mattress over there or coming back home. ^^
Tomorrow, Christmas dinner over there, and the day after dinner over here with the parents and both brothers. :D
You know what I've noticed lately? I'm starting to miss my flaily, happy, seriously over the top Japanese boybands. I haven't been watching, listening to or even downloading anything that has even been in contact with Japanese culture, but when argentumfeles was over here a couple of weeks ago we watched the NEWS Diamond...somethingsomething DVD, and then Spirits. And it was fun. ♥
So, um. Could anyone point me to any JE PVs that have come out in the last, oh, year to year and a half? :D;

merry christmas my lovelies.
Hope this Christmas season brings everyone one of you joy and love and laughter.
I have a few things to apologise for and the first is for being so MIA from LJ, especially after making a bunch of new friends, but I've been either busy or not feeling well and so, the internet has held very little appeal to me lately. The second thing, I apologise to everyone waiting on a card from me. Due to my failness, I managed to totally destroy my batch of about 40 or so handmade cards with a spilled bottle of craft glue and a spilled bottle of ink. I'm really very sorry. I did promise cards, so I have started to remake them, but they will probably be a bit rougher round the edges. They will also be very, very late. Expect cards sometime around late January. As that's the case, they may not be Christmas-y ones, just holiday greeting ones.
On a happier note, I have received asinful's and hitomito's cards. Thank you so much, they were so adorable! ♥
Have a wonderful Christmas people, and a safe and prosperous New Year. You probably won't hear from me til possibly after the New Year. Take care and stay safe everyone. <3

Today was our last full day in Kyoto. I'm sort of sadface about it, because I do love Kyoto, but not exactly because tomorrow is CHIDORICHO.
There's really no reason for me to love Chidoricho so much, because there's sort of nothing there except the ryokan and this one Italian restaurant and an am/pm. But I do anyway ♥
So we went to Kiyomizudera this morning which is still beautiful and peaceful in winter, and is my favorite shrine I've ever been to. Then we went to Nara, where deer knocked musikologie down and stole her lunch. I was like "Isn't Domoto Tsuyoshi supposed to be the goodwill ambassador for this place?!" but then we realized that he'd be right in the middle of the deer trying to steal our lunch too.
Somebody who can draw, please draw us Koichi trying to protect his bento from a little crowd of Nara deer, with Tsuyoshi right in the middle looming over Koichi's shoulder, with a headband with little deer antlers on it. (DJ? You so want to...)
Anyway, it's christmas eve for us, so tomorrow is christmas day! wah, it feels really weird, since this is the first christmas I've ever spent away from my family or even not in my parents' house. I kind of doubt Santa-san is going to track me down in Kyoto D:
Lmao i bought a puffy coat like everybody has here, so I'm good and trendy, but now my old coat won't fit in my suitcase. PACKING FAIL.

At the age of 32, she has now become the first female solo artist to achieve #1 with an original album in her 10s, 20s, and 30s. She had three of them before her 20th birthday in 1997, followed by a couple more in 2000 and 2007.
Yusuke Kamiji had to settle for #2 on the charts with 167,000 copies, a little more than half of Amuro's sales. MISIA, Rina Aiuchi, and Thee Michelle Gun Elephant broke the top ten as well.
In singles, Masaharu Fukuyama's new song "Hatsukoi" captured first place with 151,000 in sales. The rest of the top ten was filled with fresh releases, from THE ALFEE, abingdon boys school, Buono!, Megumi Nakajima (as Macross Frontier character Ranka Lee), Yukari Tamura, The Birthday, and a sub-unit of Idoling!!!

The latest issue, released this week, came with a special book featuring Nishiyama that announced her departure.
Nishiyama's last appearance in CanCam will be in the March 2010 issue, which is scheduled to go on sale on January 23.

The two musicians, who both play bass, announced the news on their respective blogs.
YUCCO (whose real name is Yumiko Taguchi) explained that she and Kawahara met in 2001, when they entered the same music school as classmates. They registered their marriage this past June, then held their wedding in Hiroshima on December 6.
